Onboard displays for the London train fleet AVENTRA

Bombardier chose us to supply several thousand 28” LCD TFT PIS displays for AVENTRA Class 345 EMU trains, in order to provide passengers with real-time information and entertainment, and to support the displays for the very long lifetime of the trains. The client also demanded that all devices met stringent technical requirements for fire, smoke, safety, display readability, shock and vibration as well as mechanical conformance and obsolescence support.

Bombardier also set high targets for maintenance to ensure that the system has a class-leading TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) calculated for more than 30 years. We provided a plug-and-play solution configurable and installable in a few minutes; each display can be easily mounted with no special tooling. The GDS 28” solution features an optimized, high-efficiency, and long-life LED backlight unit and an embedded media player. Both are quickly accessible and replaceable, offering unmatched cost-effectiveness and ruggedness.
