Floor display for Astana’s new National Museum

GDS Hantarex was asked by the National Museum of Astana (Kazakhstan), to develop a video-floor display to cover the Astana Hall wing. The objective was to deliver a walkable, captivating and immersive experience, by portraying the city during different historical periods, thus showcasing the nation’s rich heritage. Proven mechanical strength and safety were needed, along with the screens’ resistance to loads of up to 700 kilos per sqm, as people walk across the displays.

With the cooperation of BENART, our long-term partner, we have created a remarkable installation, on a scale never conceived before. The biggest project of its kind in the whole world, the display covers an area of 450 square meters (4,843 square feet). It is installed in the new National museum and features 845 separate 46” narrow bezel displays which were used together with many special features to provide visitors with a unique 360° visual experience.
