Founded in Florence, Italy in 1945, Hantarex initially focused on radio production before
expanding into televisions in 1952. In the 1970s, the company shifted its focus to IT and
began producing monitors.
Hantarex quickly became a leader in the European computer monitor market during the
1980s, renowned for its stackable monitors that became the global standard for video walls
in airports, railway stations, and the gaming industry.
The company Hantarex ceased operations in 1995. However, the brand was acquired bySambers Italia S.p.A. in 1996 and later by GDS (Global Display Solutions) in 2012.
GDS acquisition of the Hantarex professional displays branch from Sambers, marked a strategic move, bringing together Hantarex’s technical prowess in the indoor sector with GDS expertise in outdoor digital signage, creating a successful synergy that continues to
thrive.
Backed by GDS’s economies of scale and multinational expertise, the brand Hantarex maintains its ability to quickly respond to market needs and transform them into innovative digital solutions with a focus on aesthetics and serviceability.
Today, Hantarex continues its legacy of innovation as an Italian brand recognized for its research, style, and functionality, offering a diverse range of displays, from self-standing systems to interactive windows and digital networks, primarily serving the retail sector.
